Together We Make a Difference (often referred to as TWMAD) is a youth support organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent.
We provide disengaged children and young people with the support, resources, and inspiration they need to change their own story for the better.
Through specialist, activity-led one-to-one mentoring, we empower the young people we work with to figure out who they are, what they want, and how to achieve that for themselves.
For us, it’s about putting the power back in the hands of the young people we work with. We’re there by their side and while we offer guidance, we never take the lead – we empower them to chart their own path.
This is their story – we’re just helping them… to explore new ideas, challenge expectations, and make positive changes in their own life.
Who do TWMAD support?.
We provide specialist support and mentorship to children and young people in Stoke-on-Trent and its wider communities across Staffordshire.
It’s tough to describe a “typical” TWMAD mentee or student – each young person is unique – but as an organisation, we specialise in supporting children and teenagers who are:
- disengaged from mainstream education
- experiencing social isolation or anxiety
- exhibiting negative behaviour that’s impacting themselves and others
- involved in or impacted by criminal activity
- recovering from or coping with abuse.
The young people we support are often facing significant challenges in their life, some of which they have no direct control over.
We provide each individual with a judgement-free space where they can be themselves, feel accepted, and start understanding who they are and what they want from life.
