The Right Environment Can Make All the Difference

Not every young person is ready to engage in a classroom, and not every conversation is best held in a school corridor. TWMAD’s Intervention Hub provides a calm, structured and engaging environment where mentoring, learning, behaviour change and personal development can take place alongside practical activities and education support.

Alongside our work in schools, homes and the community, the Hub gives young people another place where they can feel safe, build trust and focus on positive change.

The Intervention Hub is a specialist intervention environment where trusted relationships, structured learning and practical experiences come together to help young people re-engage, develop confidence and make positive progress.

A Flexible Environment Designed Around Young People

  • A calm, structured space that removes many of the barriers experienced in traditional settings
  • Individual mentoring, education support and behaviour change in one environment
  • Practical learning through life skills, creative activities and real-world experiences
  • Flexible delivery for early intervention, intensive support and alternative provision
  • Designed to complement schools, families and partner services not replace them

Support Where It Works Best

Every young person is different, which is why TWMAD delivers support across a range of environments. Together, these provide the flexibility to meet young people where they are most likely to engage.

In School

Supporting attendance, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, reintegration and engagement.

At Home

Building routines, strengthening family relationships and supporting emotional wellbeing.

In the Community

Using positive activities and real-life experiences to develop confidence, independence and social skills.

At the Intervention Hub

Providing a structured environment for mentoring, education support, behaviour change, practical learning and alternative provision.

The environment is chosen because it best supports the young person’s needs and agreed outcomes

What Schools & Partner Services Can Expect

Flexible Delivery

The Hub gives schools and partner services another option when the usual environments are no longer producing the desired outcomes, while remaining fully connected to the wider support plan.

  • Support delivered in the environment best suited to the young person
  • Clear communication and regular progress reporting
  • Structured mentoring underpinned by the Behaviour Change Framework
  • Flexible integration with school, family and multi-agency plans
  • Clear recommendations and sustainable next steps

Supporting a Wide Range of Needs

Consistent Outcomes

The Intervention Hub can support young people experiencing:

  • School avoidance or disengagement
  • Behavioural or emotional difficulties
  • SEND, SEMH and neurodiverse needs
  • Risk of exclusion or placement instability
  • Barriers to accessing mainstream education

Support is always tailored to the individual and can be delivered as part of Rapid Re-Engagement, Intensive Intervention or High-Intensity & Alternative Provision.

A Space Designed for Meaningful Intervention

Every activity has a purpose. Whether preparing a meal, producing music, learning new skills or completing structured framework activities, each session is linked to agreed outcomes and opportunities for reflection, growth and behaviour change.

Rather than simply providing somewhere to meet, the Hub allows young people to access a wide range of structured opportunities, including:

  • Individual mentoring and Behaviour Change Framework sessions
  • Education support, alternative provision and reintegration work
  • Cooking, budgeting and independent living skills
  • Music, creativity and confidence-building activities
  • Small group programmes, workshops and preparation for adulthood

Part of the TWMAD Support Pathway

The Intervention Hub is not a separate programme. It is one of the environments through which support can be delivered.

Whether a young person is receiving Rapid Re-Engagement, Intensive Intervention or High-Intensity & Alternative Provision, sessions may take place at the Hub when it provides the most appropriate environment for engagement and progress.

Support is always tailored to the individual and can be delivered as part of Rapid Re-Engagement, Intensive Intervention or High-Intensity & Alternative Provision.
